What are the creative organizations in your town? And what do they do? If you don’t know, you should find out. Like business networking or social media networking, creative networking can leave you energized, full of a fresh perspective and with new acquaintances.
Tuesday night I was thrilled to present what a creativity coach does and can do to a local creative organization. An amazing and diverse group of women from the Creative Women’s Exchange talked about creativity and how to keep our creative spirit alive. It was the group’s fourth meeting and was started by several local artists representing a variety of endeavors. It was wonderful to share the fellowship of creative women–knitters, writers, nitpickers (more on that in a later post!), artists of all media–working at jobs outside their creative realm, as well as working to be creative.
During the introduction to the evening, one of the organizers discussed a definition of creativity, underlining that it is seeps into every facet of our lives. Creativity abounds in our work, our lives, our passions.
As I drove to the meeting, I noticed the public art throughout downtown Wilmington–one of the projects of another creative arts organization. This morning I received an e-mail from another local creative arts organization. All of which makes me want to be a part of the local community even more.
It made me realize that creativity and creative groups are everywhere. I joined this local group via Facebook, as well as a couple international organizations. Being a part of an organization can help feed your spirit and engage your connection to like minded souls in your creative community.
