Let’s start having some creative fun

Often a creative idea grabs you and won’t let you go. Sometimes, eh, not so much.
Last week I attended the annual BlissDom blogging conference in Nashville. After the first session I attended, on backcoding no less, I phoned my husband and told him I had figured out what I needed to change with The Write Elizabeth. In one session. I might as well have gone home after that, right?
Except the idea was with me, but the passion hadn’t caught up. I spent the rest of the weekend in other sessions, meeting amazing women with awesome blogs and becoming swept up in the fever-pitch energy.
Staying on message
Have you ever attended a workshop and spoken to someone afterward. One message stuck with you, another message stuck with the other participant? One thing that stuck with me and that I heard–repeatedly–is that you need to be passionate about what your are doing. Find your bliss, of course! If you had been in the same session, you might have focused on something else.
Yes, I am passionate about creativity. I think it infuses infinite elements of our days whether we know it or not. But at BlissDom, after being mistaken for a crafting blogger (of which there are many wonderful bloggers, alas, I am not one of those crafty bloggers!), I found myself having to explain creativity.
After hearing inspiring Kevin Carroll speak about the importance of play, I realized I have a long way to go in explaining how important creativity is to staying healthy and happy. (Catching one of his red balls might have helped, but I’m not bitter…!)
I’m going to run with my ideas, with its new infusion of passion. I’m on the path to make changes to this blog–adding video blogs, audio and more photos–I’d love your feedback in helping the shape the next stage.
Please let me know, what would you like to see about creativity and play? And let’s start having some blissful, energetic fun….
