A new creativity guidebook is out on the market, complete with an island of pickles and doughnuts. Written by Javy W. Galindo, an electrical engineer and creative performance arts instructor, he was laid off in 2007. Since then, he has focused on writing his 250-page map of the creative process. According to a press release, this is “a lighthearted guidebook on how to overcome creative blocks in order to experience life more creatively.”
The Power of Thinking Differently: An imaginative guide to creativity, change, and the discovery of new ideas (Amazon.com, $13.99) is touted as “part how-to-manual, part whimsical adventure story.” Complete with a look at science, real world examples of creative people with an accompaniment of “jokes, puzzles, mythology, and a curious allegory of an island of pickles and doughnuts throughout.”
The Power of Thinking Differently, available through Amazon.com or Galindo’s Web site, or by calling (206) 426-1075.
I have yet to read it, but the repetition of pickles and doughnuts is certainly making me hungry.
