Re-discovering art, online

Admittedly, I should have been working. But the art games for children on the Web site for The Art Institute of Chicago are too tempting. I was discovered (by my children, of course) before I had a chance to play all the Web-based games. The clever matching games, story time and playing with art–using great works of art–is fun and, dare I say it, creative as well. Seeing a work of art in a different setting or interacting with it in a fresh context helped me to see the work differently, engaging with it on another level. And, since it will be a while until I get back to Chicago, I think I’ll live vicariously through the museum’s Web site.
